Topaz, with its lively fire, clarity, beautiful colours (ranging from blue, pale green, yellow, pink and red) and hardness is ideal for jewellery. Because of its rarity, topaz is an expensive gem. The rarest and most valuable colour being red; light blue is more common and of less value but no less stunning in beauty. Topaz is thought to strengthen the mind and increase wisdom.
