These Bohemian inspired earrings are made from Sterling Silver, 10mm bead and 4mm Sterling Silver satin finish round beads. They are on trend and ideal for bringing out your inner bohemian side! This project is a great one to practice your wire work and hammering techniques.
Unfortunately we no longer supply the Amazonite beads featured in the photo, within the shopping list for this project we have chosen our crystal quartz beads which would also look lovely.
Step By Step Instructions
Firstly, take your 1mm Sterling Silver Wire and make a large loop to create the main ring of the earring.
Using your round nose pliers create a small loop on one end of this wire.
Next, thread your beads on to the large loop in the order that you want them to show (we have put three of the silver satin finish beads, followed by one Amazonite bead then another three silver satin finish beads).
Then, with your round nose pliers create another small loop at the other end of the wire.
Take the two small loop ends of wire and lay them together.
Take approx 4cm of 1mm wire and thread this through the Amazonite bead to create another, smaller loop. Push together with flat nose pliers to hold in place (be careful not to crush your bead!)
Now you have your 'frame'.
To create the hanging components, first cut 0.8mm Sterling Silver Wire into (approx) 2cm lengths (to make around 30 pieces of wire- per earring).
Using a jewellers hammer, hammer one end of each of the 2cm wires flat (to avoid making marks on the metal - use a lot of force on the hammer and only 'wack' once or twice).
One by one take the hammered 2cm lengths and curl the un-hammered ends using round nose pliers around the 1mm wire loops to create your look.
Repeat for the other earring.
