This is a great quality jewellers gas torch with push button 'piezo' ignition and a small, easily controllable flame (up to 1300°C). This is ideal for the type of soldering associated with jewellery making and the small flame makes it particularly suited for soldering small pieces, such as jump rings or chains.
It can be used with sterling silver and gold solder in both strip or paste form and is also great for firing torch fireable metal clay, making it an essential piece of your jewellery toolkit. This torch burns for approximately an hour and a half from full and is easy to refill using butane gas (cigarette lighter gas) available from newsagents and hardware shops.
Simple to use, the torch can be easily operated using only one hand; this saves you both time and gas as you can arrange and securely hold pieces to be soldered with one hand before lighting the torch with the other hand. It has a durable, black metal body which is comfortable to hold and comes with a removable base so it can stand upright on your workbench. It also has a safety lock feature so that the torch cannot be accidentally lit when the lock is applied.
