About Tiger's Eye

Tiger's eye is a common variety of quartz but unlike most varieties, it is known as a 'pseudo morph' which means it began as a crocidolite and transformed into quartz. When polished, it has a silky lustre and the colour ranges from golden to a red-brown colour. Two of the most important sources today are Thailand and South Africa. It measures 6.5-7 on the Mohs scale of hardness.
