December Birthstone | Turquoise

Discover turquoise, the birthstone of December. A relatively soft gemstone, turquoise ranges from greenish-blue to sky blue shades. The name is believed to originate from the French phrase 'pierre turquoise' meaning 'Turkish stone'. Turquoise is thought to be a symbol of good fortune, success considered by some as a love charm, and when received as a gift, the turquoise symbolizes a pledge of affection.

Zircon is the alternate birthstone for December. Its name is probably derived from the Arabic words “zar” and “gun”, meaning “gold” and “color”. The gemstone is found in a wide range of colours, and possess great brilliance, fire and clarity.
