Deb: Managing Director
Who's your biggest inspiration or idol, and why?
Marianne North, Victorian botanical artist who travelled the world painting plants in their natural habitats. Her incredible collection is permanently exhibited at Kew Gardens, and I’m inspired by the way she expressed her creativity through capturing nature. I love to do the same through the jewellery I make and wear – finding ways to carry a little piece of the natural world with me.
What's your proudest Kernowcraft moment so far?
The response to our very first subscription box blew me away. Over 50% of recipients either messaged me privately or left a Trustpilot review to share their joy. It confirmed to me that we were striking the right notes, offering not just jewellery supplies but a moment of calm, focus and expression and moment to boost wellness through creativity. That first box was just the beginning, and it continues to grow from strength to strength as more people find the same benefits.
If you could learn any new jewellery making skill tomorrow, what would it be?
Stone setting. I’ve always loved crystals and their healing properties, and stone setting feels like the perfect way to explore new ways of keeping different crystals close, depending on where the mood strikes or what energy I want to bring into my day!
