“I find ball stone setting burrs provide a quick and tidy way of cleaning up holes drilled into silver or gold. After the hole has been drilled I select a ball shaped burr 0.5-1mm larger in diameter than the size of the hole and- either holding it in my hand or in a pin vice- turn it gently a couple of times with the tip of ball resting in the hole. Repeat this on both sides and you have neatly finished shiny holes with no sharp edges!"
