Sillimanite is a mineral named after American geologist Benjamin Silliman, the earliest professor to teach mineralogy at Yale University. Rare, transparent crystals from Burma, Sri Lanka, and India are valued as important rare collector stones, and are occasionally cut into exquisite gemstones for collectors. It was once used by Native Americans to fashion tools. It measures 6.5-7.5 on Moh's hardness scale.
Sillimanite stimulates endorphin production, increases well being and self-love. It can help one stay focused and aids self-discipline.
