Has anyone else watched the BBC hit serious The Night Manager and fallen in love with Jed's big pearl drop earrings?
We have, and thought... we can easily make a design like that ourselves!
Our version is really easy to create and requires minimal time and tools.
Start by threading your pearls onto the headpins.
Next, use round nose pliers to create a loop at the other end of the headpin.
TIP: As these 9ct gold headpins are a little shorter than the plated ones be sure to use the very end of your round nose pliers for a nice, small and neat loop. The further you go up the plier head, the larger your loop will be and the shorter the drop on the earring will be.
Using round nose pliers again, open the loop on your headpin and attach it to the loop of the gold vermeil bird earstuds.
TIP: To ensure your loop stays secure open it by moving it forwards or backwards, rather than out to the side. For a good example of how to do this click here.
Close the loop and your earrings are finished!
Make the design your own by using your favourite gemstone beads.
The suggested products used in this project are suggestions to inspire you. Products used were compatible at the time of making but do be aware that gemstones are natural and hand cut stocks can vary, so do use your own common sense as to the compatibility of each item when making.
