A perfect easy to make earring project using rough crystals. This project doesn't require any previous jewellery making experience and you should be able to complete the project in less than 20 minutes.
We have used apatite chip beads to create these on-trend crystal earrings. To see our full range of crystals click here
Take a length of wire, we used around 15cm of 0.2mm sterling silver wire for this project.
Hold the crystal against the inside of the circle connector hoop. Begin by wrapping a few loops of wire tightly around the hoop and then over the crystal to hold it in place.
Continue to wrap the wire around the crystal and the hoop so they are securely wrapped together and the wire wraps create a nice even shape around the stone. When you are finished, trim the ends of the wire and tuck the ends in so they won't catch on your skin or clothes and won't become loose.
Next, open the loop on the bottom of the ear wire by pulling the end towards you with snipe or flat nose jewellery pliers. Insert the hoop and close the loop by twisting back the end that was pulled forward.
Repeat the same process for the second earring and your design is complete.
Make the design your own by using your favourite supplies.
The suggested products used in this project are suggestions to inspire you. Products used were compatible at the time of making but do be aware that gemstones are natural and hand cut stocks can vary, so do use your own common sense as to the compatibility of each item when making.
