These stunning lightning blue drusy diamond earrings are really striking and would be perfect worn with an evening dress for a special occasion.
We have used our beautiful sterling silver large geometric diamond charms. To see some of our lovely connector links and charms take a look at our full range here.
Start by glueing the lightning blue cabochon into the milled edge pendant setting using Devcon 5 Minute Epoxy glue, the glue we recommend to create super-fast, high strength, high-quality bonds. It sets clear so is excellent for filling gaps and ideal for setting stones.
Prepare the glue by mixing in a small dish. Use a fine point such as a cocktail stick to dab a bit of glue into the petal edge setting and gently place in the cabochon.
Once mixed, the glue sets in 5 minutes, so ensure your cabochon straight away.
Gently place it down and leave it to set.
Cut the 0.8mm diameter wire in two 14cm lengths using heavy duty side cutters.
Using snipe or flat nose jewellery pliers open the loop of a sterling silver earwire and attach the loops at the top of the diamond. This helps to keep the diamond securely in place so you can then work on the rest of the design.
Using side cutters cut the 0.3mm sterling silver wire into four 2cm lengths, then use it to wrap the geometric diamond to the wire diamond at the top and bottom, securing it in place.
Using snipe or flat nose jewellery pliers, attach a sterling silver 5mm jump ring to the milled edge pendant setting then attach it to the bottom of the geometric diamond so it hangs in the centre of the earring.
