This lapis teardrop silver necklace stands out beautifully as the rich blue lapis contrasts well against the sterling silver and the gold flecks of pyrite in the lapis sparkle in the light.
To make this necklace you get to try a new technique wire wrapping briolettes.
Unfortunately the round cabochons featured in the photo are currently unavailable, within the shopping list for this project we have chosen our oval cabochons and settings instead.
Start by using side cutters to cut the 0.3mm wire to 20cm lengths.
Set your cabachons one by one by placing them in each gallery wire link setting and use a bezel rocker to gently push the gallery wire claws over the stone to hold it in place.
Now you are ready to attach your settings to your chain. Measure approx 16cm down from the clasp and cut the chain on both sides so you are left with two separate pieces of chain.
Using two 5mm sterling silver jump rings, attach each gallery wire link setting to either side of the chain and then use two more jump rings to attach each link settings to the short length of chain so you have a complete necklace again.
Attach your wrapped briolettes to your chain using a jump ring each.
There you have it, a beautiful handmade necklace ideal for a unique present that no-one else will have.
