These beautiful leaf drop earrings really sparkle in the light when you move and will add a special touch to a smart outfit! We love the mix of gold vermeil with sterling silver and have used one our gold vermeil charms; take a look at our full range here.
To make these earrings you learn how to wire wrap briolettes, a simple but effective technique to add to your skills. As the briolettes come in a pack of ten this will leave you with enough beads for another pair of earrings or to make a matching necklace or bracelet using the remaining beads.
Unfortunately the rhodolite garnet featured in the photo is currently unavailable, within the shopping list for this project we have chosen our ruby beads instead which would also look lovely.
Cut the chain into two lengths of 5cm and two lengths of 3cm using side cutters. You can make them longer or shorter if you want. (As we sell chain in 50cm minimum length you will have some chain left for your next project.)
Using snipe or flat nose jewellery pliers open a jump ring, slip on a 6cm length of chain and a gold leaf charm. Do the same with the 3cm length of chain then attach both lengths of chain to an earwire using another jump ring.

Cut four lengths of 0.3mm sterling silver wire to 5cm with side cutters.
Wire wrap each briolette bead ensuring that you attach the top loop to the chain about 1cm from the bottom so it hangs above the leaf charm. Alternatively you can wrap the briolettes and attach them with another 3.5mm jump ring. To learn how to wrap briolette beads click here.
Repeat with all four briolettes attaching to each piece of chain. We have used rhodolite garnet briolettes which look lovely with the gold vermeil and silver but you can choose from our range of briolettes.
