Sparkly briolettes are ideal for making into earrings and these vibrant tones look lovely alongside the warm gold tones.
These earrings are simple to make and use only a few simple tools. Ideal for the beginner who is keen to start venturing into the world of wire work.
Are you thinking of making these as a gift? Why not add a presentation box or gift bag to your order.
Start by bending the thicker wire into a hoop and secure by wrapping around itself and bending a loop at the top to attach the earwire to. If the hoop is a little wavy - all the better!
Then use the flat side of a ball pein hammer to flatten a few areas on the hoop to emphasise the wavy shape.
Use the wire wrapping method to wrap each briolette with the fine wire, attach the pyrite beads directly onto the bottom of the hoop and attach the large carnelian to the centre of the hoop with jump ring so it can move freely as you wear it.
Your earrings are now finished!
Snipe nose pliers - essential for wirework
Round nose pliers - for bending loops in wire
Ball pein hammer - a versatile hammer, used here for flattening the wire hoops
Polishing papers for a quick way to add polish the wire hoops to a high shine - not essential but will give you a nicer finish (this is a large pack so will last a long time)
Bead reamer an optional extra but one we would highly recommend asas part of your basic beading kit, a fantastic, easy to use tool for gently enlarging and neatening the holes in beads. Briolettes an other similar beads often have small holes so this is particularly useful if you like small, sparkly beads and like using them on wire instead of thread.
Make the design your own by using your favourite jewellery supplies.
