With the Halloween spirit lingering in the air we have used our favourite villains for some fun jewellery making concept building. But it doesn't have to be halloween to let these characters influence your jewellery making! Using characters is a great way to give you inspiration when thinking up jewellery designs. Looking at colours and themes may help you to come across gemstones you had not thought of before. Also, if you take the theme far enough and it is very evident in the design, this makes a great unique selling point.
The fabulous Sea Witch and Diva herself from classic Disney film The Little Mermaid. Forbidding love and ordering around her minions is her forte, but her distinct style and unique 'diva' look have made her a very popular villain. Her traits create some great links to sea inspired jewellery supplies as well as beautiful purple and blue gemstones.
From The Wonderful Wizard of Oz The Wicked Witch of The West is the wicked and malevolent ruler of the Winkie Country in the Land of Oz. Her fantastic green colour, crooked nose and thick eyebrows has inspired many of the characters from following stories, films and theatre such as the famous 'Wicked - The Untold Stories of The Witches of Oz'.
Famous Cruella... the popular star from Disney films 101 Dalmatians and 102 Dalmatians, but based on the character from the original book by Dodie Smith. Her horrible, bossy and selfish attitude make her an easy character to hate, but it is her quest to kill the beloved doggies that makes her particularly evil. She's fashion obsessed and has a very unique, eye catching style (unfortunately based on animal fur!) These patterns, her black and white hair and bright red lip stick offer a whole range of gemstone possibilities.
Poison Ivy - a 'supervillain' from various comic books from DC comics and the famous 1966 Batman film. She is depicted as one of the world's most notorious eco-terrorists, obsessed with plants, botany, and environmentalism. She uses toxins from plants and mind controlling pheromones for her criminal activities. Always immaculately dressed with ivy inspired costumes she is huge inspiration for environmental, quirky jewellery designs.
