As I'm writing this post, it's the first days of spring, bright and sunny outside the Kernowcraft office, the flowers are starting to bloom in bold shapes and vivid colours, and so should you!
A timeless and reliable trend: big, bold statement jewellery can complete any outfit. Whether you need something to go with your favourite new spring dress or want to bring an old faithful outfit to life, big and bold can lend a helping hand.
You can incorporate metal sheet to create intricate patterns and designs, or large cabochons to make a glistening centrepiece for a necklace with the fire of a boulder opal or the flash on a labradorite. You can go for bold colours in a ring setting, and pick bright pink ruby, sunny carnelian, or the flawless colours in our range of zircons. Chunky metal beads can offer some extra sparkle to a design, or something different with lapis lazuli, sea green magnesite, or frosted amazonite gemstone beads!
Pick the chunkiest shapes, the most sparkling gemstones, and the boldest colours! This list goes on, let your creativity go wild!
After asking to see our customer's creations through our facebook page, some of you have kindly sent in pictures of the incredible big and bold designs they've made!
We always love to see what our customers are creating with our gemstones and jewellery making supplies, so if there's anything you're particularly proud of, please do post it on our social media channels, twitter, facebook, and google plus, and if it matches up with that month's feature, you might see your creations on our website or emails too! We always make sure to include a link back to your work, so everyone can see what else you're making!
Above we've made an inspiration mood board, combining some of these amazing customer creations, with some of the big, bold cabochons we have in stock.

One of the techniques used above to create beautiful designs is some intricate wire work! All you'll need to get started with this technique is some of our precious metal wire, a good set of pliers, and perhaps a book all about wirework to get you started. We've added some links below to help out!
There's so much range and flexibility when working with big bold designs, so let your imagination run free, and don't forget to show us what you create with our products. We can't wait to see what you make!
