Pretty Freshwater Pearl Necklaces
Freshwater pearls must be one of the most popular types of bead for making both necklaces & earrings. Traditional strands of pearls can be easily strung, but something a little more unusual can be created by making a multi-strand necklet with Illusion Cord - when finished the beads will have a wonderful floating appearance.
First cut three (or more) varying lengths of illusion cord & attach pearls at approximately 4cm intervals, either by tying a small knot on either side of each bead, or, using Super Glue - put the smallest amount of glue where the first bead will be positioned, slide the bead into place & it will stick immediately (take great care to only place glue where you want a bead to sit). When your strands are complete, make any adjustments necessary to improve the way the beads hang. Vary the length of the strands for the best effect, then knot together at either end & attach a J51 necklet end over the knot for a tidy finish, add a jump ring & fastener to complete the strand.
