So don't worry, if you are snowed in, make the most of enjoying your hobby and stay in the warm and continue to order as usual. As you would expect the heavy snow has caused some delivery delays due to the wintry weather. For the latest update click here to see the current information on our delivery page.

Snow on Cornish beaches

The heavy snow of the last week has left our beautiful beaches white with snow, quite an unusual and beautiful sight (see the photos top right and middle right). Although the snow looks beautiful on the fields and gardens it has been causing lots of disruption on the roads around our county, although it sounds like other areas in the UK have had it much worse. We hope wherever you are in the country, that you are keeping warm and safe.... Roll on spring!

Kernowcraft's diary of snow covered Cornwall

Monday 18 January 2010: Weather conditions across much of the UK have improved considerably and mail services are recovering well following the recent wintry weather.

Friday 15 January 2010: Improved weather in many areas means that royal mail are now confident that conditions have improved suffiently to allow them restore the guarantee from Friday 15 January for special delivery items.

Wednesday 13 January 2010: No snow in Perranporth today and everything is running as normal at Kernowcraft. Although due to the heavy snow in other areas in the UK there may still be some delivery delays - to find out more click here.

Tuesday 12 January 2010: Everything is running as normal at Kernowcraft, the snow has pretty much all melted and it is raining here today. Although the local radio mentions that it is snowing in some areas in Cornwall, there is no sign of snow here - so fingers crossed it will continue to clear and get milder!

Monday 11 January 2010: All of the Kernowcraft team were able to get to the office, despite there still being snow and ice on the roads. Throughout the day the snow began to melt at Kernowcraft and some rain and milder weather has helped to clear most of the roads around the Perranporth area. Royal mail and our courier were able to collect your orders as normal.

Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 January 2010: Snow continued to fall heavily over the weekend, so we all took the opportunity of our days off to enjoy the snow with friends and family. The wintry weather has also brought lots of birds and wildlife into our gardens, particularly flocks of redwings and goldfinches, all have been appreciating the food we have put out for them.

Friday 8 January 2010: Most of the Kernowcraft team were able to get to our office and all orders were processed and despatched as usual. Although the postman couldn't get through to our office to deliver or collect mail, we were able to take our parcels to our local post office to ensure you didn't experience any additional delays.

Thursday 7 January 2010: Heavy snow meant that all of the staff at Kernowcraft were snowed in and unable to get to work, because of the heavy snow and ice on the roads.

Wednesday 6 January 2010: Although the Perranporth area was free of frost and snow in the morning, areas as close as Redruth and Truro had snow and icy roads. Because of the bad weather and road conditions around Cornwall the postman was unable to collect our post (these orders were posted as soon as we were able to meet the next collection from our local post office on friday 8th)
